Perk
2019 Unraced TB by Mastery (Candy Ride) out of a Broken Vow mare
Just a hair under 16.3 and BIG bodied
Perk is everything I love about a thoroughbred - sensitive, willing, and athletic.
He’s an easy keeper, and stays out 24:7 in a mixed herd with no problems. If you looked at him and I had you guess what he is, a 6 year old thoroughbred would probably not be your first few guesses 🙂
So so so many good things to say about this guy. He has really settled in so well in the last week or so, and it’s showing in his rides. He has the most lovely, natural rhythm and balance that makes him so fun to ride, and he really tries to do all the things for you. Not to mention he’s just pretty damn handsome to look at. I’m not sure the camera really captures what a chunky hunk he is in person. He’s still a baby in that he has a lot of body, and he’s got enough power in the hind that sometimes he doesn’t quite know what to do up front, and can be a little fussy in the mouth. It’s getting better and better and will continue to improve as he gets stronger and more confident.
The more I do with this guy over fences, the more I think he really has a strong future in the hunter ring. Lovely, flowy rhythm and a super cute knees to nose kinda jump. He was doing the hunter/jumper job with his previous owner the last two years and I definitely think he could continue to be developed in that direction. He has a green change when asked. He’s 6, so they’re not auto and not always perfect but it’s not something I usually like to pick at them for.

Rani
9 year old Warlander mare
So many good things to say about this mare! Rani is an affectionate, curious, puppy dog type. She is currently broke WTC and working to be more consistent and confident in the contact. She’s a forward, sensitive ride but no dangerous or naughty habits. She’s quite green for her age, but she really gives you the feel that there is “a lot under the hood” to work with, and I really think she has some phenomenal potential in the dressage ring. She has fantastic movement and with further development and balance I think will be quite the stunner and pull some pretty decent scores. I think a professional or good riding ammy looking for an investment type is going to have a lot of fun with her!
She’s an easy keeper, and can be stalled or turned out without much fuss. She’s barefoot, and has good ground manners and just in general is pretty easy to have in the barn.
